Acquia has recently contracted Mark Boulton Design to work on revamping Drupal's "user experience" from the ground up for the upcoming version 7 release. Although Drupal is extremely powerful already, it could definitely use some help in its ease of use. Mark and Leisa Reichelt have been putting a lot of work into this project recently, and they have begun to show their ideas to the community. It looks very promising so far, and I can't wait to see what they implement for Drupal 7.
